We at Vivien Joy love nature and our earth, because we couldn't be without them. That is why we attach great importance to the use of sustainable materials. We are also sustainable in production.
We use fabrics that are not only better for our skin but also for the environment.
Lyocell: This substance is also commonly known as Tencel. Lyocell is a natural material that is made fromWood cellulose or pulp. It is perfect for sensitive skin, as the material's absorbency keeps the skin dry and its surface is pleasantly soft. Tencel, or Lyocell, is breathable, has little odor and is very kind to the skin. Lyocell is environmentally friendly because the fabric is biodegradable and no harmful by-products are created during manufacture. In addition, lyocell production is much less toxic and wasteful compared to making other cellulosic fibers.
Linen: Linen feels smooth, is lint-free and less prone to dirt. Linen has a cooling effect in summer and warming in winter. This fabric is also of high quality and is environmentally friendly. Because hardly any fertilizers or pesticides are used in the manufacture of linen fabrics. Since the linen fiber is made of cellulose, it is biodegradable.
Organic cotton: Cotton is hard-wearing and therefore long-lasting.In addition, cotton is suitable for allergy sufferers and is therefore biodegradable as it consists entirely of cellulose. Organic cotton uses less water than conventional cotton because no genetically modified plants are used for organic cotton. This means that the water consumption of organic cotton 40 is lower than that of conventional cotton..
The nice thing about it is that these sustainable fabrics are super soft on the skin on the one hand and stand out due to their excellent quality on the other.
At the moment all dresses are designed and sewn by Vivien Joy herself.
We try to make our production as sustainable and fair as possible. The transport routes are relatively short because the fabrics are ordered from within Germany, designed, produced, packaged and sent to the customer in one and the same place in Germany. This means that the CO2 emissions are lower. There is only water consumption in the manufacture of the fabrics, but not in the production itself.
We also try to leave as little waste as possible. Small accessories or other useful things are sewn from scraps of fabric. We also sell our prototypes so that we don't have to throw anything away, so that every meter of fabric produced is used sensibly.
Our vision is even bigger and we would like to give other talented and creative people the chance to take part in the production of our products as soon as possible. Fair wages and pleasant working conditions will always be in the foreground.
The shipping packaging consists of 35 grass paper and 65 waste paper, so not a single tree had to be felled. We also use casein-free wet adhesive tape and eco-packaging tape and tissue paper with the environmental seall ③ upholstery materials. Our postcards are made of paper that is certified with the FSC logo and therefore comes from responsible forest management. They are printed with the dry offset process that is free of binders containing mineral oil.
In order to protect the environment even more, we will also use used cardboard, because something that is already there does not have to be produced!
We also send our parcels with DHL GoGreen, which ensures that the emissions generated during transport are offset by climate protection projects and the purchase of CO2 credits from verified and high-quality projects.
